Lots of miles as we head to Blarney. The hills are green and some large bays along the way. Although apparently not as green as normal since the rain has been almost non existent. In 2019, we missed the Blarney Castle since we got there late. The grounds were amazing No neither of us kissed the stone. Dan somehow pulled his back so the good news is he hasn’t complained about his hip hurting only his back. Not sure what he did. Good news is not too much lifting of luggage.
The weather has been beautiful. Temperature is not cold or too warm unless the sun is out. The Irish are amazing containers gardeners. There are pots and hanging plants all over the place so walks, doorways and storfronts.
The second part of the day we head into Killarney. Part of the group went on Jaunty cars which are horse drawn cart. Two reasons we opted out. First Dan’s back would’ve been very unhappy secondly we had seen the jaunty cars up close and personal on the short cut to the Ring of Kerry we took in 2019
For dinner we went into Killarney. Our guide gave us a listof restaurants. We wanted to go to a Pub. What we have found in several pubs in both Dublin and some of the other cities we have visited is there is no food served after 6pm. Our only guess is they have music and serving alcohol only is easier and has a better mark up than food.
This evening we attended “celtic steps. Not as much dancing as I had hoped the venue was hard to get a good view. We were a little disappointed but it was an enjoyable evening out.
Our room is improved and a surprise. There is actually a king sized by bed. Step count is still up 12500 steps Tomorrow we ride the Ring of Kerry
