Round the ring

 Today our tour will travel the ring of Kerry. Since we are in a bus travel is in the counterclockwise direction.  Apparently large vehicles can’t make the hairpin turns. Since this is a tour there is lots of stopping which is a bonus for finding bathrooms.   The first stop was unfortunately a jewelery gift shop serving complementary Irish Coffee.   Almost went home with the custom made necklace but did the math and decided there were a few more things to spend those Euros on..,. As we continue it seems I have forgotten a lot of the drive or missed  it the first time. Either way it is a lot less stressful to ride instead of being the navigator 

As we return to Killarney dinner is at the Muckross farm   A farmhouse dinner of lamb stew homemade bread and butter with bread pudding in a custard sauce for dessert. Local muscians with harp and concertina to provide entertainment 

Tour notes:   Bus travel is comfortable because there are stops every 1-2 hours. The packing and unpacking hasn’t been too bad. Usually the bags are out 1 hour before we leave so that has been 7:15-7:30. Plenty of time for breakfast before leaving. About every 2 or 3 days there is a 2 day stay so no packing.  Wifi on bus is great so I can keep up with the blog.  We have had great weather no rain with the exception of the horse farm tour although going onto the west coast of Ireland it may become more rainy

We never got the compact walking sticks to lock so Dan is using the partially compact ones.  His back was better yesterday still some problems getting up and down from sitting to standing but he is surviving 

The hills and farms are greener here on the west coast more of what Ireland is known for the green green fields broken up by rock walls, most of limestone 

The upside is we have one tour director the entire 2 weeks  he is from Great Britain so understanding him has been easy compared with some of the Irish,  He is a wealth of information so we are able to understand more of history and local information   This benefit has probably been the best.
